(CMP) Test Reagents

Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP)

The comprehensive metabolic panel or CMP is a series of fourteen common tests performed that helps to monitor and assess the patient’s glucose, electrolyte, and fluid balance, as well as determining overall kidney and liver health. Bowtie Laboratory Consulting offers all of the reagents necessary to running this panel which includes:

  • Albumin
  • Alkaline Phosphatase
  • Alanine Transaminase (ALT)
  • Aspartate Transaminase (AST)
  • Total Bilirubin
  • Total Protein
  • Creatinine (Jaffe)
  • Glucose Hexokinase
  • Carbon Dioxide
  • Calcium
  • Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN)
  • Sodium*
  • Potassium*
  • Chloride*

*These are electrolyte reagents run by the analyzers ISE’s using electrolyte reagents, this method is performed in one step producing the three data points as opposed to running the three tests separately. This is the method used and preferred by ourselves and many labs as it yields the same results much more quickly and efficiently allowing for an easy area to cut costs of operations. If your lab currently runs an instrument without ISE’s and preforms these tests it may be beneficial to give us a call and discuss options for upgrading your instrumentation or, if your instrument has ISE’s and you are not utilizing them, to discuss our ability to set them up for use.
